Get ready boys, Heidi has teamed up with Jessica McMillin to race in the Trophy Truck class this year. Two women, one truck, and a whole lot of adrenaline!

FULLERTON, CA. – (Nov. 13, 2012) – Yokohama Tire Corporation-sponsored off-roaders Cameron and Heidi Steele are heading to Mexico’s Baja Peninsula to compete in the storied SCORE Tecate Baja 1000, November 14-17. The Steeles, along with their Desert Assassins teammates, will race on various Geolandar® tires along the demanding course. The 45th running of the race goes from Ensenada to La Paz and is the SCORE racing series season finale.

If Heidi Steele had developed any rust during her time off this season for the birth of their daughter she wasn’t showing it at the Baja 500. Heidi and co-driver Rene Brugger drove their Ford Ranger back onto the podium in her first race back and the second place finish is just the latest in her consistent success at this race. Heidi was last years class 6 series champ and despite the time off hopes to defend the title for 2012.

Desert Assassins driver, Heidi Steele, finished in fifth place (class 6) at the SCORE Baja 1000 held in Ensenada, Mexico November 17-20. That placement provided enough points to cap-off her consistent success this season with her fourth series class championship. The good news kept flowing for the DA family as after the race Heidi and racer husband, Cameron, also announced that they are expecting a baby girl in early 2012. It was an exceptional day for the Steele family and Yokohama Tire Corporation at the Tecate SCORE San Felipe Challenge of Champions, September 10, in San Felipe, Baja, California, Mexico. Husband and wife team Cameron and Heidi Steele put on a show with Yokohama’s Geolandar® tires. Heidi – battling severe stomach flu – won the Class 6 division (with a lot of help from co-driver and Desert Assassins teammate Rene Brugger and his son Richie), while Cameron finished fifth in the ultra-competitive Trophy Truck division, and seventh overall among all 77 racers.
